PlayStation 4 Pro vs Xbox One Scorpio is a heated debate that has been going on for some time and apparently Sony and Microsoft are part of this debate too. When PlayStation 4 Pro was revealed last month, Sony detailed that the console will pack 4.2 TeraFlops of computational power, and recently system architect Mark Cerny said that PS4 Pro could achieve the 8.4 TeraFlops of computational power.
Now Microsoft has apparently responded to the remarks of Mark Cerny, that Xbox One Scorpio will be the only console to be able to play game at native 4K.
Microsoft updated its official page for Xbox One Scorpio with a new slide, detailing the specs for the console. According to the new slide, Xbox One Scorpio will be the most powerful console ever, and the only console capable of running games at native 4K.
However, this not the first time that Microsoft has clarified that Xbox One Scorpio is the only console capable of native 4K. Last month shortly after the reveal of PlayStation 4 Pro, Xbox planning exec Albert Penello said that he knows 4.2 TFLOP is not enough for true 4K, and feels that Xbox One Scorpio is superior to PlayStation 4 Pro.
But I know that 4.2 teraflops is not enough to do true 4K. So, I feel like our product aspired a little bit higher, and we will have fewer asterisks around the 4K experiences we deliver on our box.
This point can also be proved by the fact that Sony Interactive Entertainment president Andrew House, himself admitted that most games on PlayStation 4 Pro will not run at native 4K but will be upscaled.
Do you think Microsoft would be successful in creating a console capable of native 4K and will be accessible to the majority of gamers in terms of price? Let us know in the comments.
