Everyone is getting excited about the upcoming version (Wolfenstein 3 most probably) of Wolfenstein 2 for the Nintendo Switch while on the other hand, the director of the game has started talking about the next possible game in the series.
Wolfenstein games are known for their brutal action with insane amounts of bosses and guns. Wolfenstein: The New Order is one of the best games you will ever play in this generation while the latest one which is Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus didn’t achieve the success company hoped for thus players were not happy with it as they were with The New Order.
Every Wolfenstein game consists of Single player campaign action with similar objectives for killing everyone in the game which is done by none other than the legendary protagonist in the game, “BJ Blazkowicz”.
As for the future of the game, it could possibly change as developer MachineGames recently had an interesting interview with Eurogamer.
MachineGames talked about their possible upcoming game by saying:
“Play freedom is for me, personally as a player and a developer, really interesting,” MachineGames’Andreas Öjerfors said. “I personally want to continue going down that route.
Not because it’s necessary but because we would like to do something different,” he said. “This is now our third Wolfenstein game. If we would continue down that route [Wolfenstein 3] we would play with the format a bit, do something that would interest us.
We are a first-person shooter studio,” Öjerfors said. “That’s one of the core values and ambitions of MachineGames. Whatever we do, even if we did Tetris 2, Tetris 2 would be a first-person shooter.”
Director pointed out that their next game will be the third Wolfenstein game in the series and they would like to try and experiment new things with the game. The director talked about freedom but that doesn’t mean their next game will be an RPG as he said they are a first person studio and that’s how it will stay even if they did Tetris 2.
It’s really good to see that studio is ready to play with the format of the game to bring something new for us to play and there will be no other better way to make fans happy by having a multiplayer mode.
