The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Won’t Be Optimized for PS4 Pro

The WItcher 3: Wild Hunt will not get any patches to make it support PS4 Pro features. CD Projekt RED confirmed the disopointing news earlier.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will not get any patches to make it support PS4 Pro features. According to confirmation from CD Projekt RED, the development studio is busy working on Cyberpunk 2077 and Gwent: The Witcher Card game.

They currently have no plans to release 4K and HDR support for The Witcher 3.

I’m afraid we have no plans to release PS4 Pro edition of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Our teams are working hard on upcoming projects such as Gwent: The Witcher Card game and Cyberpunk 2077. We want to be entirely focused on the development of these projects.

The Witcher 3 is not the only game that won’t be getting any special treatment on PS4 Pro. Bungie has confirmed no PS4 support for Destiny. Right now, we only know of the following games that support PS4 Pro features:

PS4 Pro offers many benefits such as 4K and HDR but it also runs games better on 1080p. Even though the console is easy to develop for, not every game will get support for 4K and HDR.

Sony announced PlayStation 4 Pro during PlayStation Meeting. PlayStation 4 Pro is aiming to achieve photorealism and HDR allows it to bring us one step closer.

The lighting effects change drastically with HDR but keep in mind that you will require an HDR and 4K display to benefit from these new features.
