Nintendo will be showcasing at least nine Wii U indie titles at the GDC 2014. Check out the details inside.

Nintendo
Using Web Framework, the development tool that is used for Wii U games, Nintendo is now embracing indie game development. Come GDC 2014, the company will showcase the audience how the tool works while developing certain characters and elements for games. More importantly, they will showcase a list of Wii U indie titles that have been developed using Unity Pro.

Steve Singer the vice president of licensing at Nintendo of America believes that the goal they are following is to let people (independent developers) know how open the Nintendo platform is to their ideas and how easy it is for them to develop games on it. Certain examples of that being the Wii U indie titles that they will showcase.

We want to demonstrate to developers how easy it is for them to bring their creative ideas to Nintendo systems. Nintendo offers wide-ranging support for indie developers, whether they want to use NWF, Unity or their own proprietary code.

There are at least nine different games that Nintendo will demonstrate at the Game Developers Conference 2014. Among these are rolling platform games with spherical worlds, moon stages and universe, as well as other games made in genre ranging from adventure to strategy to action platformer games.

Check out the list of games that are expected to be showcased at the conference next week:

  • Armillo by fuzzy Wuzzy Games
