Witcher 3 Might Be Coming To The Nintendo Switch

A job listing by CD Projekt Red points to a possibilty of seeing the Witcher 3 being ported onto the Nintendo Switch, GOG Galaxy statement adds weight.

CD Projekt Red is close to releasing Cyberpunk 2077 we all hope. Until we get to that, we can’t stop appreciating the absolute gem that the Witcher 3 is. According to another leaked game listing, we might be seeing Witcher 3 on the Nintendo Switch soon.

The whole rumor originally started when the Witcher 3 was listed alongside Assassin’s Creed 3 for the Nintendo Switch. Besides the port to the Switch, we did have a confirmation on an Assassin’s Creed 3 remaster. It’s not far fetched to assume a Witcher 3 port to the Switch either.

Additionally, a job listing for CD Projekt Red asked for a software engineer to work on multiple platforms. Including the Nintendo Switch.

Alongside this, GOG Galaxy is behind the Gwent games, including Thronebreaker. It’s safe to say that they know more about what’s getting ported than we do. Considering they specifically mentioned the Nintendo Switch in the statement, it’s safe to say that we can expect a possible Witcher 3 Nintendo Switch edition soon.

Could the device run the game though? We do know that the Switch version of Mortal Kombat 11 will have geometric reductions. One can probably assume the same for the Witcher 3 should it be ported on the Switch.

Hear that guys? We won’t be able to experience Nvidia hairworks on the Nintendo Switch. To be fair, we can’t get that on the Xbox One or PlayStation 4 either.

Let’s not forget that one of the key selling points of the Nintendo Switch is that the device is portable. Having the entire rich story and world of the Witcher 3 in a device you can take anywhere on a train, plane, the bus, there are endless possibilities.

Imagine a bathroom break but you’re cutting up drowners during a late night storm. It’ll also add to the impressive Switch roster of ported titles. Witcher 3 will be joining games like Doom, Mortal Kombat 11 and possibly Assassin’s Creed 3 as well.

If not the Witcher 3, seeing the Gwent game being ported onto the Switch is still a great alternative. I don’t need to emphasize just how important Gwent is.

20 year old Chaotic Neutral. I love me some Gwent. Linking the flame is for pussies though. Also the true Mortal Kombatant that remains unbeaten. I love single player games with a compelling story and ...
