It’s probably fair to say that Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is pretty good. Widely recognised as the best game of 2015, the fantasy epic RPG from Polish developers CD Projekt Red has won almost everything there is to win, and CDPR have only gone and proved it. Responding to a question on Twitter from a fan, CD Projekt Red confirmed that they have won over 800 awards since its release in May 2015, which is just 10 months ago, and the Witcher 3 awards just keep rolling in.

This is all before the BAFTA Game Awards which are due to take place in 3 weeks in London, where Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is nominated for another 7 awards including Best Game and Best Story.
Geralt’s story isn’t even over yet, as the latest DLC expansion ‘Blood and Wine’ is set to release in the next few months.
Despite what may seem like a world full of multiplayer titles at the moment, it is still the single player experience that is the most popular even today, and Witcher 3 awards just go to prove that. The 100+ hour adventure sets the bar for graphical achievements, story-telling, role-playing and of course, mini-games in the form of the addictive card game Gwent.
After release, CD Projekt Red release 16 packs of DLC for absolutely free on a weekly basis, which is almost unheard of in this generation’s world of over-priced expansions and season passes.
Witcher 3 does offer a season pass as well that includes Blood and Wine as well as Hearts of Stone that released towards the end of last year, but considering that these two packs combined are supposed to be about as big as Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings, then it’s fair to say that we will certainly get our money’s worth.
Especially if the quality continues to surpass all expectations, and earn even more awards in the future.
