During a recent meeting with the investors, Ubisoft Yves Guillemot has talked once again about The Division movie. He has said that the movie is coming along good and it’s too early to talk about a release window. Also, the production is still in the early stages and Ubisoft still doesn’t know what company to team up with.

However, The Division Movie has finally found its director. It will be directed by Oscar-winner Stephan Gaghan (who has already worked on the critically acclaimed Syriana) and will feature Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Chastain as lead characters, with Gyllenhaal as producer of the movie himself.
Ubisoft is trying really hard to make a good movie adaption of the game and that’s why The Division Movie will follow the events of the game (contrary to what happened with Assassin’s Creed movie), telling the story of a military group trying to find a cure for the disease that has almost destroyed New York.
Just for your information, there’s also a Gears of War movie in the works. The boss of The Coalition studio, Rod Fergusson, has announced that the team has partnered with Universal Studios to make the movie based on the franchise.
It will be produced by Scott Stuber and Dylan Clark, but unfortunately there is no details regarding the release window.
