Tekken 7 King Strategy Guide
Playing as King
King in Tekken 7 has easily the most grabs in the game. Some of his throws has an incredible amount of damage. Moreover, he has plenty of chain grabs and linkers that deal good damage. He does not have many good throws but his throws force his enemies to duck. While his combo potential is good, he does not have many ranged launchers. He also lacks when it comes to whiff punishment. However, if you like an easy-to-understand character with strong throws, do try him out.
Coming to his combo potential, King’s combos are easy to execute and deal a good amount of damage. If you need to starting combo, try u/f + 4, d/f + 4, 3 d/f + 2, 1 Screw! WR + 2 + 4. Do note that connecting 2 + 4 requires you in a running animation and is difficult to execute. However, I recommend pushing f, f immediately after the Screw! to be able to execute it. For slightly increased damage, you can add in a standing 4 after u/f + 4 but by doing so, you will need to dash forward to connect the d/f + 4, 3.
If you manage to carry your opponent to the wall, try d/f + 4, 3, 4 that is easy to execute and deals good damage. However, King truly shines with his grab combos. The throws that I’m talking about here are ground-throws. Therefore, you need to land 1, 2 jabs followed by a ground throw. For the throws, either go with d/b + 1 + 3 or d/b + 2 + 4.
Overall, King in Tekken 7 easily has the best throwing game. He not only has strong okizeme and throws but he can also dish out crazy amount of damage with his mix-ups. On the other side, King lacks when it comes to strong whiff punishment and poking games. On top of it, he does not have many lows or at least good ones.
