It should come as no surprise that the Tales from the Borderlands disc release would be announced. Today the announcement has come, so the next question will be, will Game of Thrones be next?
Telltale Games have announced that the Tales from the Borderlands disc release will be coming April 21 in Australia and New Zealand, April 22 in Europe and April 26 in North America. It will include all 5 episodes.
When the game was released it became one of the surprise hits of the year, using the comedy from the popular Borderlands games and bringing the Telltale style to the action. While it was questionable whether Borderlands could be used in this way, the answer was a resounding yes.
Full of pop culture references and managing to be fast-paced, you just have to look at the announcement to see how celebrated the game is. Gaining reviews like 10 out of 10 from Destructoid, and quotes such as “a bona fide Game of the Year contender” it definitely delivered where it mattered.
Now that the Tales from the Borderlands disc release is coming, it will be interesting to see how well it sells. While many will have bought it digitally as each episode was released, there are some that like to wait for the full game to be released. Now the disc version is coming, this may be the time for them to take the dive into the world of the Borderlands.
With this release, it will also work as a reminder that Borderlands 3 is coming in the future. Still in early development though, don’t expect that one to be released anytime soon.
The Tales from the Borderlands disc release will be coming to PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC.
