Take-Two Indirectly Says BioShock Sequel Will Happen Unquestionably

Take-Two Interactive's CEO indirectly asks you to start waiting for a BioShock sequel though he didn't say for how long.

It is a fact that the developers behind BioShock franchise have hardly revealed anything worthwhile when it comes to the topic of a Bioshock sequel. However, Take Two Interactive is pretty positive that there will be one which is going to be “highly creative and innovative.”

While attending the MKM Partners Investor Day conference in NYC, Take Two Interactive’s Chief Executive Officer, Strauss Zelnick talked of Ken Levine’s BioShock and added that it was most definitely a permanent franchise:

The franchise is in the hands of 2K. They’ll make announcements in due time about any upcoming releases. But BioShock is unquestionably a permanent franchise for our company and one that we do believe in.

Adding that Take Two was “thrilled” to do business with Levine, he went on to say that “Ken would work on something highly creative and innovative,” ending with “I think that would be a reasonable expectation for whatever he does next.”

Of course this cannot be regarded as a confirmation for a BioShock sequel, it is at least a reassurance that someday 2K will reveal such a thing.

2K Marin is the studio that is heading the franchise right now, but they are also at the helm of a number of other titles in the past, what they are brewing right now remains to be seen.
