Students Mistake Super Smash Bros. Drawing for a School Shooting

A students drawing of Super Smash Bros. caused panic in a school and made everyone think that the kid is planning a mass school shooting.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has finally arrived on Nintendo Switch and it’s one of the most anticipated games to ever come on Switch and from Nintendo. Clearly, this anticipation was taken wrong when a student in Ohio from East Clinton High School in Sabina drew the game logo on the Whiteboard. That’s when everyone who didn’t understand it and thought that it’s a hint of an upcoming mass school shooting.

Apparently, not everyone was a fan of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in the School. Everyone misinterprets the students drawing as an evidence that he’s planning to do something violent. The first thought that came to everyone’s mind was that he’s planning a mass school shooting.

This unknown student drew a Super Smash Bros. logo on the whiteboard along with its release date. This happened at the end of November.

The student wrote, “Dec. 7th, Time to” after drawing the circle logo. Now apparently the student drew this twice a month. Some students witnessed him doing it the last time so they went to the principal Kerry Matheny to report him.

Matheny was then informed by the student that it’s nothing more than the drawing of an upcoming video game by Nintendo. The date he mentioned was the release date and he said that he “did not mean to cause an alarm”.

Matheny believed the student and told the concerned kids that it’s not what they think. But by that time, the matter got out of their hands. Almost everyone at school assumed that the boy was indeed planning a mass school shooting on December 7.

To counter that, the principal sent out emails to all of the parents to clear that there’s no such thing as a threat coming from the student who drew the Super Smash Bros logo.

The email reads, “It has been determined that there was never any actual threat, just misinterpretations of the message about the video game,”.

We are glad that it’s over. Though many might think that it’s silly or funny but the truth is that school shootings are really a concern these days. School shootings have happened more recently especially in the United States and that’s why people are really scared.

Super Smash Bros Ultimate is finally out now and it comes with a big roster consisting all of your favorite characters. Super Smash Bros Ultimate characters list is already huge and it grew bigger with the announcement of Joker from Persona.

According to the Japanese magazine Famitsu, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate sales have crossed 1.3 million in Japan since the release date. The game is overall great and it’s exactly what the fans wanted in a Super Smash Bros game from a long time.

Though, players are very disappointed because of the online problems in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Players are reporting that the Nintendo Switch Online service goes to waste because playing Super Smash Bros. Ultimate online is impossible at the moment.

People are complaining about the connection and input lags which make it impossible to play Super Smash Bros. Ultimate online.
