Over 170 Steam Games Removed By Valve Marked As Trolling Titles

The Steam Storefront has recently got more than a handful of titles taken off. Valve decided to remove these Steam games which were part of a trolling scheme. More than 170 Steam games got taken down by Valve in the wake of this scam.

If a user had already bought any one of those trolling Steam games, Valve has still got their back. The trolling policy of Valve protects the copies of every Steam user. This policy by Valve allows them to identify and point out the trolling games roaming on the website.

These trolling titles got singled out among legit Steam games with the help of the database. Valve decided to act on it as quick as possible according to their trolling policy. Their policy got declared in June which argues to deal with “straight up trolling” content. In accordance with the policy, Valve took actions against this scam.

This policy got formed after “Active Shooter” started to encourage school shootings. The game caused a lot of controversies before Steam took it off in May. Valve has been warning users of such Steam games and even gave instruction on avoiding them.

Valve stated on these trolling titles wrapped around other Steam games by saying:

“Some trolls are trying to scam folks out of their Steam inventory items. Others are looking for a way to generate a small amount of money off Steam through a series of schemes that revolve around how we let developers use Steam keys. Others are just trying to incite and sow discord. Trolls are figuring out new ways to be loathsome as we write this. But the thing these folks have in common is that they aren’t actually interested in good faith efforts to make and sell games to you or anyone. When a developer’s motives aren’t that, they’re probably a troll.”

Steam seems in good hands as Valve commits to make it the best online platform. Even the Windows Store needs to catch up to it. Meanwhile, PC gamers enjoy playing on Steam quite a lot especially with controllers.
