Cal’s Actor Upset Over Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Hair Color Changing Mod

Cal's actor in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is upset over a mod that lets users change his hair color. Gingers do have souls, don't break them.

Who would have thought that ginger hair is currently more of a taboo than anything? Cameron Monaghan, actor for Cal in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is upset over a mod that lets you change his hair color so that he’s no longer a redhead. The game already has a variety of different mods to spice things up in the game, this one took things a little too far.

Over the past years, ginger hair people have gotten their fair share of mocking. The saying “redheads have no soul” has been used for actors, video game characters and personals frequently, most of the time without reason. We wouldn’t want to be biased on the subject but we blame it on jealousy.

We’d secretly all want to have ginger hair. The said Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order mod lets you change Cal’s hair color and it has been given so much attention that it came into Cameron Monaghan’s attention. The Actor took the matter to Twitter with a statement that reads:

Gotta love that there are insecure dudes out there who can’t handle playing as a redhead. Seriously, ginger hate is still a thing? We’ve gotta be one of the only groups left where it’s not taboo to shit on us for being born of looking a certain way, right?

The tweet was later deleted and Monaghan addressed the matter by saying that “Twitter can’t take a lighthearted joke”. As a result, gingers from all around the world were quick to thank him for representing them the way he does. Faith in humanity restored!

Truth is, he can’t be blamed for his reaction even though it was a bit over the top. Having your entire face and body structure used as a video game character is an honor for any actor and seeing people change your looks in that way can disappoint even the strongest.

Comments about redheads have been done through the years for Ron Weasly in Harry Potter, Black Widow in the Avengers. While we believe this isn’t happening in ill intentions, the matter has been taken a bit too far.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order also has mods where you can change Cal’s appearance to anyone. For example, you can play as Joe Jonas from the Jonas Brothers or make Cal more mature. However, the Better Call Cal mod that change’s him to be less “ginger-y” as its description states, is a bit too much.
