Star Wars Battlefront 2 is Running at 60 FPS on PS4 Pro

Star Wars Battlefront 2 even on its pre-alpha build runs on 1080p 60FPS, shown at Gamescom 2017. Richard from DigitalFoundry tested it on PS4 Pro.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 is one of the most awaited games due this Holiday season. Launching a month before Star Wars VIII: The Last Jedi, Battlefront 2 will address several issues from the previous game. From a graphical point of view, this game is among the best.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 is powered by Frostbite engine & already shows impressive visuals even in Pre-Alpha stage. At Gamescom 2017, Richard Leadbetter from Digital Foundry got a chance to play this game on PlayStation 4 Pro.

Richard analyzed the ‘Starfighter Assault space combat mode’ and found out that the game was being rendered at 1080P on PS4 Pro. Most of the time the game managed to keep 60 frames per second, with a seldom drop to 50FPS, upon entering the huge space station in the map.

That’s basically great.

If PS4 Pro is able to push the game till 60FPS, that’s what the gamers want. Since there has been numerous research done to prove that gaming is a totally different experience on 60 frames per second. PS4 Pro hardware is capable to do it. Those frame drops in large scale location of Star Wars Battlefront 2 are totally acceptable and happens on a mainstream gaming PC as well.

The thing about First Person Shooter games is that they require faster reflexes while responding in the middle of a battle. Those extra Frames per second make all the difference by enhance clarity and visibility of moving objects. Playing Star Wars Battlefront 2 on 30 Frames would make it difficult to get a competitive edge and faster kills. That’s where the PS4 Pro will be doing its job really well.

The final build of the game is expected to offer a higher resolution target than 1080p. Also with optimizations done to the game, 60 FPS might become more stable.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 launches on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 17th. Are you excited about the 60FPS news for this FPS game? Let us know in the comments below.
