Sea Of Thieves PC Technical Test Announced, Will Focus On CPU/GPU Performance

It seems that we are getting close the launch of the game, as the developers have announced Sea Of Thieves PC Technical Test.

Rare has been working on Sea Of Thieves for quite some time and while Microsoft is yet to announce the release date for the game, Microsoft considers the game to be a “Multi-Year Journey”. However, it seems that we are getting close the launch of the game as the devs have announced Sea Of Thieves PC Technical Test.

Rare has announced the Sea Of Thieves PC Technical Test and only a small group of players will be invited to it. Initially, only 1000 players will be invited to the technical test and as the title suggests it will be exclusive to Windows 10. According to the studio, the main focus of this technical test is to test out the game’s auto-detect settings.

First and foremost, our focus for this test is to validate our new auto-detect settings. Now you might be asking, “what on Earth is ‘auto-detect’?!”, so we shall tell you! When players first load into the game we have some clever technology that detects the GPU and CPU capabilities and will set the graphics settings accordingly. We therefore want to see how effectively the game analyses and assigns low, medium, high, or ultra settings. We also want to see how well those settings perform on players’ machines.

Sea Of Thieves PC Technical Test will be held on May 29, 2017, Saturday and will run from 7 – 10 p.m. BST. Also, Rare has announced that after this technical test the studio will be allowing more players in the near future.

Xbox head, Phil Spencer, has praised the efforts of Rare on Sea Of Thieves many times. He has praised the studio for growing its community and believes that Sea of Thieves is the right thing for the studio to be doing at the moment.

However, this is not the first technical alpha that Rare has announced for Seas Of Thieves, as back in December 2016 Rare held a technical Alpha test for the game to help the devs to test out the game mechanics.

Sea Of Thieves is an action-adventure MMO in development at Rare and will launch in 2017 exclusively for PC and Xbox One.
