Resident Evil 7 Combat Will Feature Weapons But They Won’t Be Easy To Find

According to game producer Masachika Kawata, Resident Evil 7 combat will feature an arsenal of weapons but finding them will be a tough job

Ever since its reveal, many fans had been worried about Resident Evil 7 combat especially since most of the trailers and footage showed a first person game with reliance on atmospheric horror elements and exploration along the lines of games like Silent Hill.

Capcom had confirmed earlier that Resident Evil 7 combat will indeed be present and it won’t just be players searching for things in the house. Now, in an interview with GamingBolt, the game’s producer Masachika Kawata has confirmed that the Resident Evil 7 combat will feature a huge arsenal of weapons available to players.

However, since people have been saying for quite some time that Resident Evil games now feel like more action games instead of horror thanks to so many weapons littered across all the recent games, Masachika did mention that there is a catch when it comes to weapons in the new game.

The one thing I do want to point out though is the fact that the weapons aren’t going to be that easy to find. So until you find them and have that advantage you’re probably going to be running around considerably a lot more.

Some screenshots released earlier also seem to support this statement as weapons have been seen to be locked inside cages or other containers and players need to solve some sort of puzzles to unlock them.

Whether this balance between horror and the typical action style of old Resident Evil games will work in the favor of the new game or not remains to be seen but overall, Resident Evil 7 combat seems to be shaping up real nice.

Resident Evil 7 is scheduled for a 24th January release on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Last week, Capcom shared some new gameplay footage focusing on exploring the mansion as well as shedding some light on the first person combat players can expect in the game.
