Tomb Raider developer Crystal Dynamics, is working on an unannounced project that is most probably the next Tomb Raider game. Rumored to be dubbed as “Shadow of the Tomb Raider”, this new project might be on the verge of reveal. Crystal Dynamics is looking for AAA developers with a “yearning for adventure.” Ian Milham’s Tweet suggests that the studio is hiring for the next game.

AAA? Adventure? Crystal Dynamics? Tomb Raider!! Considering that it has been 2 years since “Rise of the Tomb Raider,” we can expect an announcement of a new game soon. Ian’s Linkedin profile also mentions that he is working on an unannounced project for CD.

“Shadow of the Tomb Raider” is something that’s hidden in plain sight, not a well-kept secret for sure. We know the title is under development and E3 2017 seems like the perfect venue for its reveal. Some of the fans tried to probe Game Director Ian Milham, but he refused to comment, saying that he can not discuss the future of Tomb Raider until things are announced. Microsoft had an exclusive partnership with CD which resulted in Rise of the Tomb Raider being exclusive to Xbox for a year.

Microsoft will be giving Project Scorpio a decent push out the door at E3 2017 and while some CD devs aren’t in favor of exclusively, Microsoft might just be desperate enough to through enough money to renew the deal. If that turns out to be the case, expect “Shadow of the Tomb Raider” to be a timed exclusive to Xbox and Windows 10. Which also means that the game might be a part of Microsoft’s Xbox Play anywhere program.

Speculations about the new game didn’t stop there, an insider Tweet also mentioned the game’s reveal at E3 2017. It’s all very exciting to read and know, but the fact of the matter is that one should take this with a grain of salt and wait for official confirmation.
