One of the 16 legendary animals that players can choose to hunt down in Red Dead Redemption 2 is the Legendary Boar, located around the Bayou’s of Lemoyne. In this guide, we will help you track down and kill the RDR2 Legendary Boar, gather its pelt and then sell it on their way to becoming a master hunter.
Red Dead Redemption 2 Legendary Boar Location
The Legendary Boar can be found in the Northwest area of the section of Bluewater Marsh, near the northern edge of the Bayou region, Lemoyne. The area where the Board will appear is shown as a boar drawing on the map.
Tracking and Killing the Boar
When you are in the area where the boar is found, a black box in the upper left corner will inform you that you have entered the legendary animal territory.
To track the boar, roam around the territory to find the first clue to begin the hunt. Use Dead eye to search for it. The following point may prove helpful if you have difficulty finding the first clue:
- The first clue will mostly be in the middle belt of the territory.
- If you can’t find the clue, try searching while on your horse and from a higher area.
- If you keep roaming, try to go away and come back again after sleeping.
Once you have discovered the first clue (appears as a “?” on the map) inspect it and simply follow the trail it shows. The trail will lead you to two or three more clues before you find the legendary animal. Remember to keep a Dead eye tonic on you so you can recharge your dead eye for the hunt as it might be depleted from searching for clues and following the track.
Legendary Pelts are not ruined by shooting, so remember to bring the weapon with highest damage you have (probably a shotgun with Slug shells).
The Legendary Boar will try to run away so shoot it quickly and multiple times through the dead eye. Once killed, just walk over to it and skin it.
If the animal manages to escape you, it will reappear in 72 in-game hours, so go back to the camp and just sleep.
Selling Pelt
The Legendary Boar tusk can be used to craft the TUSK TALISMAN, which lowers your horse’s health and stamina core drain.
Selling the animal skin to trapper gives you money, and unlocks special cosmetic gear. Leave the skin on the horse and choose SELL from trapper’s options. The gear can then be bought after selling the skin. The following gear and items can be acquired by selling the Legendary Boar pelt or tusk:
Legendary Boar and Bison Fowlers
