Red Dead Redemption 2 Idealism and Pragmatism for Beginners
Go to any Post Office, get your letter, and read it. Now, wait for night to fall and then head to his residence. Lemieux will be asking you for a favor and an unethical favor at that.
The Mayor wants you to persuade a Professor regarding the authenticity of the paintings being displayed at the gallery.
Go to the carriage with the Mayor’s assistant Jean-Marc, he will brief you as you make your way to your destination for the next step of RDR2 stranger mission Idealism and Pragmatism for Beginners.
You will be able to find the Professor at the Art Gallery in town. As he exits, you will be following him into an alleyway. Here, you will have the option to either threaten him or beat him up so he changes his mind regarding the paintings. Now report back to Jean-Marc.
Wait a few days once you have persuaded the professor, and you will receive another invitation letter to meet the Mayor at his mansion. His favor now will be asking you for help raising funds for a Library.
Jean-Marc will direct you to a rich guy’s carriage (Hector Fellowes), and you will have to ‘Convince’ him.
‘Raising’ Funds for the Library
Head to the north of town, after making it to the road, if the coach is moving call out to the driver and then just board it.
Talk to the man a little and then threaten him, he will be willing to contribute to the library’s funds soon. Now, wait for night again and then report back to Lemieux for the final part of this RDR2 stranger mission.
Thorn in the side
With everything you have done, Lemieux is pleased and happy, but he considers Jean-Marc a threat to everything, and he will ask you to confront the man, along with giving you an old field manual “Farm, Field and Falconry”.
Simply knock Jean-Marc out and bring him back to the mansion, avoiding line of sight of the guards.
At this point, the mayor will ask you to bring Jean-Marc to the backyard and ask you to kill Jean. You have two options, either spare him or kill him.
If you kill him, you will receive a thank you letter from the mayor in a few days and get 10% in all shops in Saint Denis.
If spared, Jean will promise not to say anything, and run away. The mayor, however, will resign from his position later at the end of this RDR2 stranger mission.
