It seems Slightly Mad Studios has gone completely mad, taking jabs at Forza and Gran Turismo. Slightly Mad Studios is coming with Project Cars 2 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC later this year. The developer did exceptional work with the first game and now while working on the sequel, creative director Andy Tudor is confident enough to take jabs at industry heavyweights.
According to creative director Andy Tudor, both Forza 7 and Gran Turismo have a lot of catching up to do. While fans of both series may not like what he said, he does make a valid point. Many of the features announced for Forza 7 were already a part of the original Project Cars.
You might have seen another racing game out there [Forza 7] has just announced dynamic weather, well, if you remember back Project Cars 1 had that back in 2015. The ability to now play in 4K, well again, if you remember back and rewind to previous interviews with me, you could play Project Cars 1 in 12K. And it’s the same thing here. Please go and play […] our CXC motion rig in VR, come back and tell me that we’re not the most technically advanced racing game.
Slightly Mad Studios has confirmed that Project Cars 2 will run at native 4K and 60 frames per second on Xbox One X and added that they have not yet decided the resolution for Sony’s PlayStation 4 Pro. However, this will not be the only racing title that will run at native 4K/60 FPS as Forza 7 will also run at native 4K/60 FPS on Xbox One X.
