With over 700 Pokemon, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon is one of the most complete dungeon titles in the series. Aside from normal Pokemon, there are over a dozen Legendary Pokemon that can be recruited.
How to Recruit Legendary Pokemon
Unlike previous iterations, finding and recruiting these Pokemon is significantly easier. This guide details various Legendary Pokemon and how to recruit them:
Articuno
You need to reach Platinum and defeat the Pokemon at the Blue Point Dungeon in order to recruit it.
Zapdos
You need to reach Platinum and defeat the Pokemon at the Yellow Point Dungeon in order to recruit it.
Moltres
You need to reach Platinum and defeat the Pokemon at the Red Point Dungeon in order to recruit it.
Mewtwo
You need to reach Gold and defeat the Pokemon at the Solitary Island in order to recruit it.
Lugia
First, you need to recruit Moltres, Zapdos, and Articuno and then defeat Lugia at the end of the Sea Shrine in order to recruit it.
Ho-oh
First, you need to recruit Lugia, Moltres, Zapdos, and Articuno and then defeat Ho-oh at the end of Rainbow Bridge in order to recruit it.
Registeel
You need to reach Silver and defeat the Pokemon at the Triple Point Temple in order to recruit it.
Regirock
You need to reach Silver and defeat the Pokemon at the Triple Point Temple in order to recruit it.
Regice
You need to reach Silver and defeat the Pokemon at the Triple Point Temple in order to recruit it.
Regigigas
First, you need to recruit Regice, Regirock, and Registeel and then defeat Regigigas at the Triple Point Temple in order to recruit it.
Colbalion
You simply need to defeat this Pokemon at the Oath Hill in order to recruit it.
Terrakion
You will automatically recruit this Pokemon after recruiting Colbalion.
Reshiram
You need to reach Hyper and defeat Reshiram and Kyurem at the Sky Ruin in order to recruit it.
Zekrom
You need to reach Hyper and defeat Reshiram and Kyurem at the Sky Ruin in order to recruit it.
Mew
You simply need to complete the game in order to recruit Mew.
Entei
You need to reach Platinum followed by completing the Connection Orb mission in order to recruit Entei.
Raikou
You need to reach Platinum and recruit Entei in order to get this Pokemon.
Suicune
You need to reach Platinum and recruit Entei in order to get this Pokemon.
Latias
You need to reach Platinum followed by completing the Connection Orb mission in order to recruit Latias.
Latios
You simply need to recruit Latias in order to acquire Latios.
Rayqyaza
You need to reach Elite and duel with Rayqyaza at the end of Dragon’s Guard in order to recruit this Pokemon.
Deoxys
This one is pretty simple! All you need to do is to complete the Meteor Site dungeon.
Uxie
You need to reach Silver followed by completing the Connection Orb mission in order to recruit Uxie.
Mesprit
You need to reach Silver followed by completing the Connection Orb mission in order to recruit Mesprit.
Azelf
You need to reach Silver followed by completing the Connection Orb mission in order to recruit Azelf.
Giratina
You simply need to defeat the said Pokemon at the end of Zero Isle dungeon in order to recruit it.
Cresselia
This one is pretty simple! All you need to do is to complete the Connection Orb mission to recruit the Pokemon.
Darkrai
You simply need to defeat the Pokemon at the end of Rocky Mountain Trials to recruit Darkrai.
Thundurus
You simply need to defeat the Pokemon at the end of Stormy Ocean dungeon to recruit Thundurus.
Tornadus
You simply need to defeat the Pokemon at the end of Stormy Ocean dungeon to recruit Tornadus.
Landorus
You simply need to defeat the Pokemon at the end of Stormy Ocean dungeon to recruit Landorus.
