Pokemon Black and White Rare Pokemon Guide

Find out how you can get the Rare Pokemon in the Black and White version of the game and learn what makes them all so special

As with all new generations of games, Pokemon Black & White bring a plethora of Pokemon to the fold. Among the entire pokedex, there are some that are pretty hard to find. This Pokemon Black and White Rare Pokemon guide will help you find and catch them all.

These Pokemon make up for the biggest amount of new Pokemon in a generation. Find out how you can get the Rare Pokemon in the Black and White versions of the game.

Pokemon Black and White Rare Pokemon

Darmanitan (Desert Resort/Relic Castle)
Winning from Ghetsis will get you the National Pokedex, Go back to the desert resort and move towards the entrance of Relic Castle. You will get a Range Candy Bar from a professor over there.

Go to the entrance of the Relic Castle and try to interact with the blue statues. You will then start a fight, You can use the Range Candy Bar and then capture Darmanitan. You can also use its zen mode which transforms into a statue.

Volcarona (Relic Castle)
After beating the game you will get National Pokedex, go to the Desert Resort and march towards the Relic Castle. You will see a new area with Volcarona there. Fight to win! But it’s a very difficult battle. On its level 70, Volcarona is one of the hardest rare pokemon to catch.

If you are unable to catch it this way, you might want to go for the alternate method which is catching its pre-evolution form ‘Larvesta’

Musharna (DreamYard)
At the right of the Striaton City you will get access to the basement of the dream yard after beating the game. Go there on a Friday and you will find Musharna. This Pokemon knows telepathy. You can also set the date of your DS to Friday for this to work.

Pansear, Panpour, Pansage (Dream Yard)
At the Eastern side of the first Gym, a trainer will give you a Pokemon. It is based apon your choice. If you chose Tepig then you will get a Pansage, if Dewott then Pansear and if Snivy then Panpour.

Magikarp (Marvelous Bridge)
Winning from Ghetsis will obtain National Pokedex, you can then buy rare Magikarp Pokemon from the man on the Marvelous bridge (500 bucks).

Tritouga, Archen (Relic Castle, Nacrene City)
At the top of the Relic castle you will receive a cover fossil or plume fossil from a trainer. The choice is all yours if you will take Cover Fossil then you will get Tirtouga or if you will choose Plume Fossil then it will give you an Archen. Head to the Museum of Nacrene City and talk with the Clerk to redeem your fossil for a rare pokemon.

Omanyte,Kabuto,Aerodactyl,Lileep,Anorith,Crandidos,Shieldon
Winning from Ghetsis will get you the National Pokedex, return to the Twist Mountain Cave and then a man will give you another random fossil. You can go to the Museum and ask to the clerk for redeeming it. You can go to that guy every-day for the fossil until you collect all of them.

Foongus, Amoongus (Route 11)
In the Tall grass, these mushrooms will appear to be Pokeballs, talk to the fake for either revealing one.

Zorua
For this Pokemon you must have an empty Pokeball and a Celebi. Transfer Celebi from your old game via Transfer Machine. Have Celebi in your party and then talk to the girl who is lost in Castelia. She will then just turn into Zorua and use the free Pokeball.

Larvesta
The egg is available to the man in the house (route 18). This is in fact the pre-evolution form of the rare Pokemon ‘Volcarona’. Once you have caught this one, you should try on evolving it ASAP and it will evolve into a deadly Volcarona which has really powerful moves and is the strongest rare Pokemon.
