In the Activision Blizzard’s latest earnings report, the company revealed that the game has crossed a big milestone in terms of sales, actively becoming a “billion-dollar franchise” in the process joining the ranks of the franchises such as Call Of Duty and World Of Warcraft. To be precise, Overwatch is the 8th billion-dollar franchise in the company’s portfolio.
According to the Activision Blizzard, Overwatch has set a new record for monthly active users during fiscal Q1, bit did not share any specifics. However, it is impressive for the game to become a billion-dollar franchise, given that it has not been a year since the game’s launch.
Also, Blizzard seems to be determined to support Overwatch for the long term as the studio has been supporting the game with new heroes and maps. Apparently, new heroes for the game have been leaked. According to the leak, three new heroes included Doomfist, along with two new heroes called Bria and Ivon are coming to the multiplayer game.
