Rumors are Nvidia will be rolling out its Ampere architecture based GPUs later this year and seems like Nvidia Pascal GPUs aren’t going away anytime soon as Samsung will be producing Nvidia Pascal GPUs based on its 14nm production technology.
According to report, Samsung has won the contract to produce the Nvidia Pascal GPUs and the production will start before the end of the year. However, it will be interesting to see how well these Nvidia Pascal GPUs will perform if the rumors of Ampere architecture GPUs turn out to be true.
In related news, BITNAND is rolling out Nvidia Mining Cards later this month. According to the company, it will roll out NVIDIA P106-090 6GB Mining Cards. These cards will cost $389 and the company has noted that mining performance will vary from batch to batch.
However, this might not be the only mining specific Nvidia card coming out this year as a report is making rounds on the internet suggesting that Nvidia Turing will be unveiled at GTC 2018 and this specific card series will be designed specifically for cryptocurrency mining.
Not only that rumor has it that Nvidia will be rolling out two GPU series this year one focused on gaming and the other on mining. This makes sense that Nvidia Turing cards will be mining specific as the report suggests that Nvidia Ampere GPU will deliberately block mining at the hardware level.
Considering if their mining capabilities will be blocked, it will result in the GPU prices and supply going back to normal.
Speaking of Nvidia, the company has noted in recent earnings call that they are 10x bigger than AMD and added that compared to AMD, the company has a lot of more suppliers than its competitor which supply them.
