Since the RTX series graphics cards came out, we heard that there was plenty of Pascal cards in the inventory over at Nvidia and that the Nvidia GTX 2060 might not release this year. Now we are getting new reports that claim that the release might be sooner than expected.
Reports claim that the Nvidia GTX 2060 could release in the middle of next month. We have already heard that GDDR5X is going to be available soon. This is a cut-down version of the GTX 1080. This is not a bad thing as Nvidia is getting rid. This is a rumor so you need to take this with a grain of salt.
Right now, the new AMD RX 590 blows the GTX 1060 out of the water and Nvidia has nothing new to offer in this price bracket. while the GTX 1060 is a great card when it comes to performance per watt, it lags behind when comparing overall performance. It has been more than 2 years since Pascal was released so now would be a great time to get a card to replace the Nvidia GTX 1060.
Keeping in mind that the performance of the RTX 2070 is pretty disappointing with RTX on, the GTX 2060 is not going to support any RTX features. The RTX series cards are very expensive indeed and it will be interesting to see how the Nvidia GTX 2060 will be priced. With no RTX features, the card will not have RT or Tensor cores, so it should not be as expensive.
You can expect the pricing to be competitive when compared to the AMD RX 590 and the RX 580. The RX 590 is pretty competitive keeping in mind that it comes with games like Devil May Cry 5, The Division 2 and Resident Evil 2. It will be interesting to see what Nvidia will have to offer.
