Nioh has just launched with critical acclaim from both critics and fans alike. While the game gets everything right it offers, but a change to Nioh co-op between the last demo and the final game has many fans disappointed.

Nioh is a singleplayer game that also features co-op, to help players defeat a difficult or tricky boss. However, there is a catch as the co-op partner you have summoned, has to have beaten that boss that you need help with.
This would not have been a problem except in the last demo for the game it was possible to have both players in co-op to beat a boss for their first time. So, obviously many fans were expecting to play the entire game in co-op and they were disappointed when they found out that they can’t.
However, there is a good reason behind this change in Nioh co-op, as Tom Lee, creative director at Team Ninja told Kotaku that they made the change because otherwise the game would be too easy to beat and they wanted players to play the game as it was intended to be.
You cannot co-op through the entire game because that would make it too easy for players to beat the game. We want players to experience Nioh in how it was intended to be. We allowed players to co-op anytime in the last trial demo only because of the limited stages and time to try out the demo.
We can see where the developers are going with the Nioh co-op as playing the game in co-op completely changes its dynamic, which explains why they want almost every player to play the game solo in their first attempt.
Nioh is an action role-playing game developed by Team Ninja exclusively for PlayStation 4.
