Monolith Talks Project Scorpio, “Pretty Excited to be Working With Microsoft”

Middle-Earth: Shadow of War – besides PS4, Xbox One and PC – will also release for the upcoming and powerful Microsoft’s console Project Scorpio, and it seems Monolith is very happy to be working with the company, as stated by technical director Matt Allen in a recent interview:

So far, we really like the hardware of Project Scorpio. I don’t know how much they’ve revealed the specs, but it is an upgrade. It’s not just sort-of, ‘We’re going to upgrade some stuff.’ There’s things you can do with it. So, we’re pretty excited to be working with Microsoft specifically.

Monolith is working at their best in order to make the most out of the Scorpio’s hardware, and it is indeed worth it: the game looks fantastic thanks to its 4K and HDR features.

Allen has also talked about the game engine, and according to his words, it has been upgraded and improved, with better facial animations and brand new animations.

Even if there’s no concrete information on the hardware of Project Scorpio, the console already has its own page in the Microsoft Store.

Its listing page isn’t really helpful right now, as it doesn’t tell anything specific about the console. However, pre-orders will open up before Holiday 2017 and you can choose to sign up for Microsoft’s newsletter so you will know when Scorpio is available.

Middle Earth: Shadow of War will release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on August 25th, 2017. The Project Scorpio version will be available after the console’s launch.
