Marvel Cosmic Announcement Incoming for MCU Phase Four – Report

There have been several rumors and speculations about what “Phase Four” could possibly feature for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in the foreseeable future. The most recurring theory of them all is that the next round of installments are going to deal with “Marvel Cosmic” in great capacity. The latest word through the same grapevine makes a similar claim.

Taking to Twitter earlier this week, veteran pop culture blogger Jeremy Conrad stated that an announcement about Phase Four and Marvel Cosmic is going to be made in the next week.

While he refused to divulge any substantial details, he did tease that the MCU will be heading into unexpected territories. Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) was mentioned in reference and how Marvel Studios plans to capitalize on the great “unknown” in the next phase of installments.

Conrad further added that Marvel Cosmic has nothing to do with the characters currently under the 20th Century Fox banner; ruling out the likes of the Silver Surfer, Galactus, Annihilus, and such. This might also rule out the X-Men and Fantastic Four in the process. The only characters left behind that can be attributed to the cosmos are perhaps the Celestials, Eternals, Beyonder, and Adam Warlock.

While there is indeed excitement in mulling over where the MCU is heading next, it should be pointed out that Conrad previously claimed about Deadpool 2 receiving poor ratings in early test screenings. This was shut down soon after by various other third-party sources.

The untitled Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel will be the first movie to initiate Phase Four, as well as being the first movie to be set right after the untitled sequel to Avengers: Infinity War. It is scheduled to release in theaters on July 5, 2019. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will follow afterwards in 2020, hopefully alongside the standalone Black Widow movie.
