Kingdom Hearts 3 Won’t Be the End of Series: Tetsuya Nomua

Kingdom Hearts Director Tetsuya Nomua has said that the series’ conclusion is something which has never been discussed in team discussions.

The man behind the Kingdom Hearts franchise Tetsuya Nomua has said that the series’ conclusion is something which has never been discussed in team discussions.

Speaking about the franchise’s length with NowGamer; Nomura said that Disney never brought up the subject of ending the franchise with the Kingdom Hearts 3:

The discussion of the end of Kingdom Hearts has never come up between me and Disney, so I don’t know what their intentions are. But while creating Kingdom Hearts, with each generation I think to myself ‘This should be something that can’t be accomplished by just Disney.’ It has to be something uniquely Kingdom Hearts. So it’s a matter of how long can I keep creating for Kingdom Hearts! I don’t know if the fans would enjoy it as much if it was just Disney, if it wasn’t a combination of Disney and my own creativity.

Kingdom Hearts 3 is currently being developed by Playstation 4 and Xbox One, but remains without a release date. Since the game’s devs are currently helping create the upcoming Final Fantasy VII remake, I highly doubt it will release sometime in 2016.

In related Kingdom Hearts news, Square Enix recently attended Jump Festa 2016 where the studio showed a brand new trailer of the game. You can head over to the post for more information!

Do you think Kingdom Hearts should conclude already or do you look forward to more generations? Let us know in the comments section below!
