How to Respec in The Outer Worlds

If you are regretting your decisions to invest points in certain areas, you can use our guide to learn how to respec your build in The Outer Worlds

This would come as good news to everyone that it is possible to respec in The Outer Worlds. It fine if you didn’t spend a lot of time in the character creation menus because there were other more interesting things that you could rather do. But that is now haunting you but there is no need to worry as you can use the Respec machine to get your build in order. But you would have to find this machine first which is not that hard to do as it might be closer than you think.

You can try out different builds and make full use of the respec machine. Here is how you can find it.

How to Respec in The Outer Worlds

The full name states ‘Vocational Competence Respecification Machine’ that is on your ship, The Unreliable. It is present in the room that comes to the left of the front door entrance of The Unreliable above the workbench there. You can get to it by making a straight beeline to the yellow stairs that go to the back of the room towards your right and then hang a left around the edge of the platform.

But keep in mind that it might not be possible to respect straight away in the game because it costs 500 bits to respec and you might not have that in the beginning. However, you will get all the formerly spent points back in cash. So if you think you invested your skill points in the wrong categories, you can just respec to reset your build and get your skill points back.

You would have to save up in order to be able to respec in the game which you can do by completing some quick quests. Also, upon using this machine the cost of using it again increases, so you better see a therapist about commitment issues if you have any because there would be a point when doing it again and again would cost you a lot.
