A new and exclusive behind closed doors footage of Halo Wars 2 gameplay has surfaced online thanks to Ready Up Live. The 15-minute video footage shows some new weapons and vehicles which will be featured in the game.
343 Industries and Creative Assembly had already confirmed that the sequel to the Halo RTS game released 7 years ago will features lots of new weapons and vehicle units as well as gameplay features and new enemy types.
The footage showcases friendly units being trapped in a region by some heavy enemy fire and judging from the Halo Wars 2 gameplay shown, the sequel improves upon a lot of things which players might have felt lacking in the original game.
Since the game’s release is still far off, this is an early build and because of that there are some issues and missing features which the developers insist will be fixed by the time the game is released.
From its battle mechanics to camera movements, sound effects and destruction on land, Halo Wars 2 looks to be a huge improvement. Weapons are much more destructive in nature this time and the way all that destruction affects the world is clearly shown in the video.
To target a wider audience this time, the developers seem to be focusing on the narrative side of the game as well as clearly shown in this Halo Wars 2 gameplay footage. The voice acting is much more improved and not only are the characters voiced but there is also proper narration behind the scenes to keep the story going.
The footage shows players fighting against Banished forces, a faction of the Covenant, with standard infantry and flamethrower units as well as Scorpion battle tanks.
Halo Wars 2 is scheduled for a February 2017 release on Xbox One and PC. A beta for the game is planned for early 2017.
