#1 Grand Theft Auto 5 PC – Where is Save/Configuration File

You can find it in documents/rockstar games/GTA 5.

#2 Grand Theft Auto 5 PC – Can’t Install the Game
A lot of users have reported that they are unable to install the game. This could very well be due to some special characters in your windows user name. As a workaround, you can create a new user and try installing the game on that.

If you are wondering that what characters are permitted to be used in the username, Rockstar has provided us a list.

Also, Rockstar has officially acknowledged the issue and assured fans that a fix will be rolled out soon.

#3 GTA 5 PC 0xc00007b Error Fix
If you are facing this issue while trying to launch the application, it’s most probably due to .Net framework. You need to install the latest package from Microsoft and if you already have a latest version, try re-installing it.

Running the game as administrator seems to have fixed the issue for some. Also, if you have any windows updates pending, make sure that you install them.

#4 Grand Theft Auto 5 PC – How to fix Memory Related Crashes
It goes without saying that you should have minimum memory installed to run the game. If you have sufficient RAM and you still are experiencing some crashes due to memory issues, you should check your page file size.

Also, if you have any third party programs running in the background that might cause any conflict with the game, you should disable them.

#5 GTA 5 PC Game Crashes on Laptop
If your game is being crashed on your laptop, and none of the above mentioned reasons is an issue, then you should make sure that your game is being run using the dedicated GPU and not the integrated one.

You can change the settings via your GPU control panel. Also, make sure that your Laptop is plugged in while you are playing the game.

Multiple users have reported that they are experiencing this issue. However, there are a few workarounds you can try to resolve the issue.

First, make sure that you are not missing any windows updates and all your media players are up to date. You can try to download this if you want to fix this issue manually.

You should have latest drivers installed for your GPU. This error can also occur due to memory issues, so #4 is also worth a shot.

#7 GTA V PC – Unable to Detect Media Player Features Error
If you are getting this message while installing the game, you need to go to control panel > “Windows Features on/off”. Here, make sure that Windows Media player is checked under Media Features option.

#8 Grand Theft Auto V – How to Prevent Data Loss While Migrating from PS3/Xbox 360 to PC
If you haven’t played GTA 5 on your Xbox 360/PS3 since December 2013, there is a good chance that you may loose the data during the transfer process. Workaround for this is simple, just boot up your game on Xbox 360/PS3 and save your character progress again and then transfer your character; it should work normally.

#9 Grand Theft Auto 5 – How to Fix Rockstar Social Club Launcher Issues
There have also been a lot of reports about Rockstar Social Club not working properly by different users. First thing you should try to fix it is re-install Social Club manually.

If that doesn’t work, you can try the following workarounds:

  • Verify you Game cache.
  • Try running the launcher as administrator.
  • Make sure that your antivirus/firewall is not blocking the process.
  • Make sure that you have latest versions of C++ and directx installed in your PC.
  • You also need to make sure that the program is being installed in Program Files\Rockstar Games\Social Club directory.

#12 GTA 5 Launcher Crashes During the Update
If you are an nVidia user and your launcher is crashing every time you try to update, disable it and then download the update. You can disable your NVIDIA GPU from device manager.

Once the update is installed, enable it to play the game.

Well, I know it’s a 60gb download and restarting your PC isn’t going to fix it. The error indicates the corrupt data and if verifying the game files doesn’t fix the issue, you need a clean install if you want to play the game.

Again, it might not be a feasible solution but that’s what we know so far and if you have any workaround of your own, do share with us in the comments below!

#14 GTA Online Connection Issues
If the generic workarounds like restarting your router, disabling firewall/antivirus aren’t working and you are having connection issues, know that it will continue for some time.

Even though we don’t have an official statement about the connectivity issues but we do know that it’s GTA Online and it didn’t have a smooth launch on consoles either. It will get better with time.

You can also use the extensive guide to resolve the connection issues.

#15 GTA 5 PC – Performance Issues
When it comes to performance, you need to make sure two things; your hardware should be good enough and you must have latest drivers installed for your GPU. If those two things aren’t an issue for you, you can try the following workaround:

For some users, disabling in-game Vsync and forcing Vsync and triple buffering via GPU (Nvidia control panel/catalyst center) seems to have improved the performance. You should try that too.

#16 GTA 5 PC – Social Club UI has Stopped Working
First thing you need to do is make sure that you don’t have any pending windows updates. A couple of users have reported that using Service Pack 1 for some reason has resolved the issue for them.

I am not sure it will work by I guess it’s worth a shot until official fixes start rolling out.
