Grand Theft Auto 5 Cancelled Story DLC Plans Included a Zombie Apocalypse

Rockstar Games's canceled plans for Grand Theft Auto 5 story DLC included a zombie apocalypse, according to two veteran leakers.

Grand Theft Auto 5 canceled DLC plans included a zombie apocalypse, according to two veteran data miners within the GTA Online community. For those who don’t know, Rockstar has never released a story DLC for GTA 5.

After years of wait, Rockstar announced in 2017 that they will not release any story DLC for the game unlike GTA 4’s The Ballad of Gay Tony and The Lost and the Damned expansions.

However, after the recent arrival of Diamond Casino & Resort update, Eurogamer decided to investigate Rockstar’s canceled plans for GTA 5’s story DLC updates. The site asked veteran data miners to look back at their findings and speculate what additional stories of the game with DLCs would have looked like.

One of the Grand Theft Auto 5 DLC episodes was supposed to feature a zombie apocalypse, according to data miner Tez2. Apparently, the canceled DLC would have been similar to Red Dead Redemption’s Undead Nightmare expansion.

What Rockstar was planning to do with the single-player DLC can be compared to adding a whole new map expansion. They had plans to redesign 80 or 90 percent of the map to fit a specific theme – one of the episodes was supposed to feature a zombie apocalypse. Rockstar would make changes to the whole map to fit the zombie apocalypse theme, Tez2 told Eurogamer.

Another GTA 5 DLC episode would have involved Trevor and his story after the events of the main story. In this story, Trevor would have work with the IAA.

In addition to this, another GTA leaker Yan2295 told Eurogamer that GTA 5 Diamond Casino was originally planned as a single-player DLC and as well as to GTA online. But it was all canceled, thanks to the success of Grand Theft Auto Online.

The data miners believe that the cancellation of DLCs was the reason it took so long for Rockstar to bring Diamond Casino into GTA 5 Online.

Many Grand Theft Auto fans are disappointed with the fact that didn’t see a zombie apocalypse in Los Santos. However, we can expect Rockstar to bring zombie apocalypse to the online mode of Grand Theft Auto 5. On the other hand, it’s not clear if Rockstar will ever release a DLC for Red Dead Redemption 2 or not. To find out, we will have to wait.

Until that happens, players should check out GTA 5 Diamond Casino update, which is now available for download on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

The Casino location near the northern part of Los Santos is finally open. GTA 5 Diamond Casino update adds new missions, lots of new content, cars, clothing options, and activities. It’s one of the largest updates in GTA Online after some time.
