God Of War 4 has been confirmed for April release and developer, Sony Santa Monica, has been revealing new details about the game and now they have revealed some more details like optional bosses and also addressed the fan concern over lack of jump button.

Speaking with GameInformer, the developers confirmed that God Of War 4 will feature optional boss fights and it will be the first time the series will feature optional boss fights.

Furthermore, the devs have revealed that players will be able to upgrade Kratos’ health bar like the previous game in the franchise but, the way players will do it will not be familiar.

Sony Santa Monica has also adressed the bit about the boat section making around 25 to 30% of the game saying that it is just a form of traversal through different areas and there are a lot of fun interactions that will occur along the way.

As for the lack of the jump button, game director, Cory Barlog, assured that players will not miss it anyway and shouldn’t worry about it.

This is the first time God Of War will feature a setting based on Norse Mythology and this might also be the last time we see the Norse setting.

Also, fans were not pleased when Sony Santa Monica replaced the original Kratos’ voice actor for the upcoming title and the studio has explained why they replaced him. According to the studio, Terrence C. Carson was replaced because of his height.

Doing what we wanted to do with a camera that was never going to cut away, we had a lot of scenes that required two characters to interact physically on the stage. The size difference between Kratos and Terrence is very great. Offsetting that for the size of a child, it turned out it was going to be almost impossible to try and actually shoot them and go in and redo the animations

God Of War is a third-person action adventure game in development at Sony Santa Monica and is expected to launch sometime in 2018 exclusively for PlayStation 4.
