The hype for the game is indeed high and Microsoft also expects that Forza Horizon 4 will be the best-selling Forza game.

Forza Horizon 4 is less than a month away from launch and will be introducing seasons that will take Forza Horizon formula to the next level. The hype for the game is indeed high and Microsoft also expects that Forza Horizon 4 will be the best-selling Forza game.

Speaking with GameIndustry, Xbox marketing boss Aaron Greenberg talked about Forza Horizon 3 and how it has raised expectations for the upcoming Forza Horizon 4.

He noted that Forza Horizon 3 exceeded Microsoft’s expectations at launch. He added that Horizon 3 is an incredible open-world game with a unique setting which combined with the quality of the game, “it stood out”.

The challenge for [developer] Playground was how do you build on that? Having the setting in beautiful Britain, which as we know is where Playground is based, being able to add in the elements of the four seasons and how that can change gameplay… that is going to take the franchise to a whole other level.

He added that Microsoft is expecting the game to be the “best-selling Forza game” ever launched. Not only that, pre-orders are are well ahead of Microsoft’s expectations.

So our expectation is that Forza Horizon 4 is going to be the biggest and best-selling Forza game that we’ve ever launched. Currently our pre-order tracking is well ahead of where we want, and tracking ahead of where we were with Forza Horizon 3. So the early indicators are really good. And that’s before you get into the fact that this title will be in Game Pass, which will allow it to reach another set of gamers who may never have played or bought the game

Speaking of the game, developer Playground Games has confirmed that the game will be well optimized as they are targeting 60 FPS instead of 30 FPS.

The studio further noted that hat there are a lot more graphical options for Forza Horizon 4 that will push the game’s visuals beyond the ultra settings on PC.

Furthermore, the developers have confirmed that the minimum specs for the game will be lower than Forza Horizon 3.

Forza Horizon 4 is an open-world racing title in development at Playground Games and is scheduled to launch on October 2, 2018, for PC and Xbox One.
