Fire Emblem Heroes Beginner’s Guide
While it’s a fairly simple experience in general, Fire Emblem Heroes can be a tad intimidating for some players. This guide aims to prevent that and details some of the game’s most basic mechanics including character level, combat, skills, and more.
Rerolling into Desired Heroes
The first and foremost thing to remember is that you need at least 20 orbs for multi-summon. Luckily, you only need to play the initial three missions to get a total of 20.
In case of an error, try and avoid heading back to the Title Menu and continue tapping retry. If you’re on a rooted Android device, you need to use any FileExplorer to open up Android > Data > com.nintendo.zada > shared_prefs > deviceAccount.xml and delete the ‘deviceAccount.xml’.
Doing this should allow you to avoid downloading the entire game data all over again. Lastly, don’t link the game to your Nintendo account otherwise you’d have to completely uninstall the game in order to re-roll.
Once you’ve your desired hero, try to rank it up to max i.e. 5 stars as soon as possible. Doing so will allow you to progress through the game’s Arena and Story modes at a much faster pace.
Combat System
The game’s combat system is as simple as it can get. Elemental damage plays a huge part in the game and can quickly turn the tides of a battle.
As a general rule of thumb, red weapons are stronger than green weapons which are stronger than blue weapons which are stronger than red weapons.
Keeping this in view, it’s a good idea to have a versatile team that can counter anything thrown at it.
As for damage output, a stronger weapon will deal about 30% additional damage to a hero with weaker weapon.
Some units in the game also deal effective damage which is something you need to keep in mind. For instance, bows deal effective damage to flying units. Finally, always beware of the Danger Area.
This area basically dictates whether your units can be attacked or not. If you or your units have yet to prepare for battle, avoid the Danger Area.
Leveling Up
When it comes to leveling up your units, there are multiple ways of doing so. The first one is fairly obvious that involves killing opposing units and accumulating EXP. However, if you’re not good in combat, you can level your units up using Crystals.
The game also features the concept of power leveling. In case you wish to power level in the game, you need to make sure that you spend your hard-earned orbs on buying the Castle.
The reason why you should do it is because the Castle essentially doubles up the amount of EXP you earn. Therefore, if you want to level up your units incredibly fast, this is the way to go!
Leveling up your units fast should allow you to gain access to a plethora of Skill Points which are earned by engaging in combat and leveling up your units. As the name suggests, the Skill Points are important because they’re required to purchase new skills.
Lastly, a unit can rank by +1 as soon as it hits Level 20 which unlocks additional skills and increases the unit’s stats.
However, at higher levels, a new concept comes into play. Known as the Limit Breaker, the basically allows players with duplicates of a same hero to go beyond stats’ cap and earn more skills.
