Xbox One X has been praised by many developers including Ubisoft who praised the console for its hardware, now more and more developers are coming forward and talking about the upcoming console. Now, Final Fantasy XV game director has praised the console and considers it attractive but, added that despite its capabilities Final Fantasy XV won’t be native 4K on Xbox One X.
Speaking with MCVUK, Hajime Tabata was asked if the current-gen consoles have reached their limits in terms of graphical capabilities to which he said he doesn’t feel that way and singled out Xbox One X saying that the console is “highly attractive and wonderful console” for developers.
Furthermore, he added that despite its technical capabilities Final Fantasy XV “will implement checkerboard rendering of 4K and HDR” and expects that the frame rate of the console will be over 30 FPS.
As Final Fantasy XV is coming to PC in Spring 2018, Square Enix has announced that the game will be getting more content next year which is hardly surprising since the studio has no plans for a direct sequel but intends to support the game with new content.
If you do that full sequel model of expanding on an IP or a series, it’s good in certain ways. The negative of that is there’s a very large open period where you’re not releasing anything. In that period, you get people to move away, and their attachment to the franchise dissipates a little bit.
While it is unknown what content will be released for the game in 2018 but, Tabata has expressed his desire for developing expansion based on Lunafreya. He added that he has a desire to showcase Lunafreya as a strong character. He noted that currently, the focus is to get ‘Episode Ignis’ out.
Final Fantasy XV is an open-world action adventure title developed by Square Enix for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and will come to PC in early 2018.
