Final Fantasy XV is just over a month away from launch and fans of the franchise are excited to finally get their hands on the game. While the the game is designed as purely singleplayer experience, many were expecting that Square Enix would include a Final Fantasy XV co-op mode, which is not going to be featured, but can be included if enough fans ask for it.
Speaking with Hobby Consoles, game director Hajime Tabata said, while the Final Fantasy XV co-op mode is very unlikely to be featured, but it is not entirely off the table, and could be added to the game after the launch.
It was developed as a single-player experience. If people really want something like that we can definitely consider. It’s very tough to convert a single-player game that was designed as such to a multiplayer game. Even though the possibilities aren’t 0% it’s complicated, let’s not discard it for the future.
While Final Fantasy XV was delayed so that developers could avoid the day one patch, the game will receive a day one patch nonetheless. Recently, it was revealed that Hajime Tabata and his team will be focusing over the camera issues in the day one patch for Final Fantasy XV.
While the game is currently in development, but the developers have confirmed that Final Fantasy XV will support HDR for Xbox One S at launch. As for the PlayStation 4 Slim, it is yet to be confirmed.
As the game will only be a console exclusive, that does not mean that developers have ruled out the possibility of a PC version. While, Hajime Tabata wants to bring the game to PC, but he clarified it that it will not come soon.
Final Fantasy XV is an open world action RPG in development at Square Enix, and is scheduled to launch on November 29, 2016 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
