Final Fantasy VII remake has been in development for quite some time exclusively for PlayStation 4. With the game featuring environmental destruction and part-based destruction of enemies, fans are very excited about the game. However, according to a rumor, Final Fantasy VII might be a PlayStation 4 exclusive after all.
According to Twitter user Dystify, a source of his has told him that Final Fantasy VII will be coming to Nintendo Switch and Square Enix will showcase the Final Fantasy VII remake for Nintendo Switch during its E3 presentation as Nintendo will not be present at E3.
While Square Enix announcing that the game will be PS4 exclusive it makes little sense, however, the game is being developed on Unreal Engine 4 and Epic Games is officially supporting Unreal Engine 4 for the hybrid console, so it makes sense that the Final Fantasy VII remake might be coming to Nintendo Switch.
Speaking of the game, Square-Enix has confirmed that Final Fantasy VII remake will feature action based combat instead of the command based which was featured in the original game. Game director, Tetsuya Nomura, confirmed in an interview the game will feature action based combat.
Battles are not command-based, they’re action-based. Regarding cover actions, there are places where they can be done on the map, but they are not required. Because it’s seamless, I showed that there can be actions in response to various scenes.
Final Fantasy VII remake is an action RPG in development at Square Enix and will launch exclusively for PlayStation 4.
