Final Fantasy 15 Windows Edition Cracked And It Hasn’t Even Launched Yet

Final Fantasy 15 Windows Edition is just a day away from launch and the PC version of the game has already been cracked despite using the Denuvo DRM, which makes things interesting considering the game hasn’t even launched yet.

Usually, the hacker group called CPY is the one who comes with cracks for games using Denuvo DRM, however, in the case of Final Fantasy 15 Windows Edition, Chinese crack group, 3DM, is the one to crack it.

Furthermore, the game being cracked might have nothing to do with the Denuvo at all, as the group itself noted that they used the “.exe” file from the game’s recently released playable demo on Steam and unlocked the full Final Fantasy 15 Windows Edition from the unencrypted pre-load files downloaded through Origin.

It seems to be a clever workaround rather than a full-fledged crack for the game and Square Enix might fix this, however, the game has already been uploaded to torrent sites.

Speaking of the PC version of the game, game director Hajime Tabata has noted that the modding tool will drop in May or June. He added that there will be more modding tools coming in the future.

For now, let me first create a character. After that we are planning to implement a level editor in the tool so that we can create quests. I’d like to decide how to extend it further after completing the current schedule.

With the game coming out on PC soon, Square Enix expects the game to sell 2 million units on PC to reach the 10 million sales mark. According to game director, Hajime Tabata, the game has currently sold 7 million units.

Final Fantasy 15 is an open-world action adventure game developed by Square Enix for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and will launch on March 6, 2018, for PC through Steam, Origin, and Windows Store with each store having an exclusive bonus for the game.
