FIFA 17 Sales Were The Best On Playstation Store Last Month

FIFA 17 sales were the best on the Playstation Store in the past month, beating out a variety of other highly anticipated video games and expansions.

EA Sports obviously has another hit on their hands with the news that FIFA 17 sales were the best on the Playstation 4 last month, when the newest iteration of the FIFA series came out on consoles and PC. While sales data for other consoles hasn’t been released yet, the game is doing well on the Playstation market.

The FIFA 17 sales being the best on the Playstation Store were even able to beat out the two other competitors for the top sales spot on the Playstation 4: Pro Evolution Soccer 2017, FIFA’s most direct competitor, which got tenth and seventh place on Playstation 4 and Playstation 3, and Destiny: Rise of Iron, the most recent expansion for Bungie’s shared-world first person shooter, which took the number two spot.

Other DLC news included the new Call of Duty Black Ops 3 DLC: Salvation, which made the top spot on the DLC list with its four new maps and a new zombie map.

Other games on Playstation consoles included NBA 2K17, which entered the best-sellers chart at number five, and the formerly PC exclusive game Darkest Dungeon, a roguelike RPG-esque game that debuted at the fourth place spot on the Playstation Vita.

FIFA 17 opened to fairly positive reviews, though its much-promoted story mode, The Journey, got a more polarized reception. Critics in particular praised the gameplay, the look of the new Frostbite engine, the game’s sound design, and its presentation over every other factor.

Along with FIFA 17 sales being the top product on the Playstation Store at the moment, it is also the fastest-selling FIFA title in history. While Pro Evolution Soccer is also fairly popular among the soccer crowd, it seems like FIFA 17’s better graphics, player modeling, artificial intelligence, and all of the other features that have been implemented into the game, have proven to be the deciding factors in the contest.
