Emma Stone Declines to Play Wonder Woman 2 Arch Nemesis – Report

It is being said that Emma Stone was possibly offered the opportunity to join the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) by playing a supervillain in the upcoming Wonder Woman 2 sequel.

It is being said that Emma Stone was possibly offered the opportunity to join the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) by playing a supervillain in the upcoming Wonder Woman 2 sequel.

According to a new report from That Hashtag Show earlier today, the Oscar-winning actress was asked to fill in as Cheetah but she turned the offer down. The reason for doing so, if the sources are correct, has not been disclosed.

Stone has been on the wishlist of DCEU fans for years. She was most recently hoped to be the one wearing the cowl of Batgirl, and was previously imagined as Poison Ivy and several other characters from the comic books.

There have been several different renditions of Cheetah in the source materials over the years, where the original ones were just agile but the follow-ups were bestowed with superpowers. The main goal of the character, however, has always been to defeat and kill Wonder Woman and rule the Themyscira. There is no word if Cheetah will be walking the same path in the movie, provided that another actress is found in time to play the role.

It was reported earlier this month that Wonder Woman 2 will return to the familiar Warner Bros. Studios in Leavesden, England. This is the same set where the first movie was filmed.

The setting for the plot is still unclear but it is believed that the sequel will take place in the midsts of the Cold War during the 80s. If that comes to be true, the Soviet Union will likely be the chief antagonists in the storyline. We will then be seeing the princess putting down whatever threat the socialist state hopes will grant them victory.

Wonder Woman 2 is still slated for a release in theaters on November 1, 2019.
