Don’t Be Surprised If Mass Effect Andromeda is Below 1080p, Uses Same Technology As Battlefront

Mass Effect Andromeda is using the same techology as Star Wars Battlefront. If developers target 60FPS, the game may fail to run at 1080p.

Star Wars Battlefront beta revealed that the game runs at 720p on Xbox One and 900p on PlayStation 4. Both versions are targeting a stable 60FPS, hopefully that won’t change.

This isn’t the first time these new consoles failed to hit 1080p and it certainly won’t be the last. Unfortunately, it is very much possible that Mass Effect Andromeda will also be below 1080p if it targets 60FPS on Xbox One and PS4.

The game is using the same technology as Star Wars Battlefront so graphics will be decent enough. However, this also means that decent graphics may cause issues if developers target 60FPS, which means below 1080p Andromeda on consoles.

There is still almost a year before we get to play the game and I don’t think we’ll hear about resolution and frame rate before E3 2016. So of course, we can’t say for sure if this game is going to be below 1080p on Xbox One and PS4. I believe both consoles may achieve Full HD is Mass Effect Andromeda if locked at 30FPS.

Mass Effect Andromeda will release for PC, Xbox One and PS4 in late 2016.
