Microsoft has set a new precedent for supporting consoles with new features and content. This time Microsoft has announced that Xbox One S and Xbox One X will be getting Dolby Vision Support for video streaming.
According to Microsoft, the Dolby Vision Support is coming to Xbox One S and Xbox One X and will allow users to take full advantage of their HDR TVs that increases the immersions a notch.

Dolby Vision enables select TVs to take HDR up a notch with scene-by-scene precision and accuracy versus standard HDR which uses one setting for the entire movie/show you are watching. Also, this is not the only noticeable feature that Xbox One S and Xbox One X are getting as Microsoft has also announced the Freesync support for its console.
For those who don’t know, Freesync allows players to play games at variable frame rate without any tearing provided that the display supports the Freesync. This would be the first time that a console supports Freesync.
As for how well it performs, well currently only insiders have access to this feature and tests reveal variable results depending on the game.
Speaking of the Xbox, Microsoft launched the upgraded Xbox One last year in the form of Xbox One X with upgraded specs which have made the console capable of running games at native 4K resolution.
However, the CPU for Xbox One X didn’t see as much improvement as the GPU and other aspects of the console and according to devs, Xbox One X CPU is a “Bottleneck” and would love to see the CPU upgraded.
This is according to Fazan Studios’ Constantine, who noted that Xbox One X CPU is a “bottleneck” for modern games and the tech associated to games and that is no secret.
It’s no secret that the “bottleneck” of modern games and technologies associated with the games is the CPU,” he said. “So yes, I’d be happy to see more significant CPU upgrades on the Xbox One X.
