  • Wait for at least one minute. Ensure that Agent.exe no longer appears in the Processes tab of your Task Manager.

If you cannot locate this folder, try these steps:

  • Click Start
  • Click Control Panel
  • If you are in Classic View:
  • Select Folder Options
  • Click the View tab
  • In Advanced Settings under Hidden files and folders, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives.
  • Click OK.
  • If you are in Category View:
  • Select Appearance and Personalization
  • In the Folder Options section, select Show hidden files and folders. This will bring up the Folder Options window.
  • Click on the View tab.
  • In the Advanced Settings section under Hidden files and folders, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives.
  • Click OK.
  • Try again to navigate to the proper folder:
  • Windows Vista/7: C:\ProgramData\Battle.net
  • Windows XP: Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data
  • Delete the folder, then reattempt the installation.

Mac

  • Stop the installation process if it’s still running.
  • Wait at least one minute. Ensure that Agent no longer appears in your Activity Monitor. For information on how to access your Activity Monitor, see our Background Applications support article.
  • Restart the installation.
  • If that does not resolve the issue, delete the /Users/Shared/Battle.net folder and try the installation again. The launcher will automatically rebuild this folder.

If you receive this error, retrieve ‘diablo3_enus’ file from C:\ProgramData\Battle.net\Setup and paste it to another location. Now run this setup file as admin and it should check for updates and fix any issues you are experiencing.

You can do this by editing the My Documents\Diablo III\D3Prefs.txt file. Change this line: DisplayModeWindowMode “0” to DisplayModeWindowMode “1”. See if that lets it load without blanking the screen.

29# Installer Stuck at 0%
Try the workaround listed in Diablo 3 Setup.exe erorr – Nothing Happens #5.

30# Failed To Run Required Program
Start with deleting the C:\ProgramData\Battle.net folder and restarting the installer. That will force it to reacquire the setup files which may be all it needs.

  1. Uninstall Diablo 3 (via Add/Remove Programs)
  2. Download game client setup from Battle.net account area
  3. Run setup (It failed with same error again…)
  4. Delete the MPQ file
