Bungie: Destiny 2 Won’t Come To Nintendo Switch Because “It’s Pretty Unrealistic”

Bungie will bring Destiny 2 to PC along with consoles unlike the first game, however, the studio has not planned to bring the game to the newly released Nintendo Switch, not because the studio does not want but because of the technical limitations of the hybrid console.

Speaking with IGN, project lead Mark Noseworthy initially said that Bungie currently has “no announcement to makes about the Switch at this time”. But, when IGN followed up by asking if the franchise could come to Nintendo Switch, Noseworthy said that it is pretty “unrealistic”.

I think it’s pretty unrealistic, given we’re an online-only game, right? The Switch, because it’s a portable – and I love my Switch, I’ve got Breath of the Wild here, I’ve got it with me. It’s incredible, I love the console, but in terms of where it’s at, I don’t want leave anyone with the possibility of, like, ‘it’s a thing we’ll consider, maybe next year.’ There’s no plans right now for Switch.

Also, the PC version of the game has been delayed and won’t launch alongside the console version. Furthermore, Bungie is yet not decided on the release date for Destiny 2 on PC. Also, Bungie has confirmed that PC version will not have dedicated servers.

Destiny 2 is a first-person action shooter and is scheduled to launch on September 8, 2017, for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and the PC version of the game will launch at a later date.
