Destiny 2 Exotic Weapons Drops Will Be Balanced, Says Project Lead

Bungie intends to improve upon everything in Destiny 2 that was loved in the first game and that is why the devs have made a lot of changes to games’ multiplayer and other aspects. The studio also intends to keep the rarity of the exotic weapons and armours in check as in the first game the exotics were not as rare as they were initially thought.

However, there was some exotic gear in the first game that was very hard to find at least in year one. But, the studio intends to strike a balance between the rarity and abundance of the exotic gear. Speaking with Gamerant, Project Lead Mark Noseworthy said that Destiny 2 will strike a balance between exotic gamer rarity.

Somewhere in the middle. There is something really special about those year 1 Gjallarhorn stories. Then there’s something really nice about the determinism of the Taken King, where you can go do this thing and you’ll get Sleeper Simulant. Just go do it. It’s hard, but you get it. We’re going to be somewhere in the middle. Both those stories are pretty cool. We want exotics to be something that all players can get, not something that only elite guys who put in thousands of hours to get exotics can acquire.

He added that exotic weapons are a special part of the game as they change how the players play the game. “We want everyone to have that experience, so in some ways we are going to democratize exotics a little bit more, but we still want there to be things that are hard to get and will be highly sought after.”

Destiny 2 is a first-person action shooter in development at Bungie and is scheduled to launch on September 8, 2017, for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and the PC version of the game will launch at a later date.
