Microsoft has finally revealed Xbox One X, the most powerful console capable of running games at native 4K. Destiny 2 will also be available for the upgraded console and many gamers expected that given the specs of the console Destiny 2 would run at 60 FPS but, Bungie has confirmed that Destiny 2 will run at 30 FPS on Xbox One X along with all other consoles.
With the revelation that Destiny 2 would run at 30 FPS on Xbox One X, many gamers were quick to blame Bungie for being lazy. However, Bungie has clarified that the reason for the game being locked at 30 FPS is the console’s underpowered CPU.
Project lead, Mark Noseworthy confirmed through his twitter account that many of the elements of Destiny 2 like AI count, Environment Sizes, and number of players and all CPU controlled and with such load on CPU, pulling off 60 FPS is nearly impossible.
Also, devs have explained why the PC version of the game has been delayed. According to Vicarious Visions’ Thomas Gawrys, the reason behind delaying the PC version is that the expectations for the game are high and the studio wants to hit as many as possible.
The honest truth is we want it to land super solid. We want to meet the expectations of PC gamers — they have expectations for what they want and we want to make sure we hit as many of those as we can.
Furthermore, the upcomign Destiny sequel wil also feature a Guided Games system, a form of matchmaking for raids and striked. However, Bungei has confiremd that Guided Games system will be restricted to ceruan levels.
Destiny 2 is a first-person action shooter in development at Bungie and is scheduled to launch on September 8, 2017, for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and the PC version of the game will launch On October 24.
