Dell revealed the upcoming XPS 15 2-in-1 laptop at CES 2018, however, shortly after rumors started to make rounds on the internet suggesting that the least expensive version of Dell XPS 15 2-in-1 laptop will come with a disabled AMD GPU. But Dell has clarified that it will not disable AMD GPU for XPS 15.
According to the rumor, the XPS 15 with Core i5 8305G will come with a disabled AMD GPU and only the Kaby Lake version will feature an activated AMD GPU, however, in a statement to GFXSpeak, Dell has assured that no version of DELL XPS 15 will have disabled AMD GPU.
Dell clarifying the rumor will come as a sigh of relief for the consumers looking forward to getting their hands on one of the XPS 15.
The Dell XPS 15 with Core i5 8305G will come with a Radeon RX Vega M GL GPU that features 20 compute units (CUs) and 1,280Graphics Core Next GPU shaders.
Also, benchmarks for XPS 15 with AMD RX Vega M GL have been revealed. The benchmarks reveal that the laptop is capable of running games at high settings and 30 FPS. However, lower the graphical settings will give you a performance boost.
XPS 15 is not the only Dell XPS laptop revealed at CES 2018. Dell has also revealed the Dell XPS 13 with Intel Kaby Lake-R and a new and improved cooling solution.
XPS 13 comes in two variants one with Intel Kaby Lake-R Core i5-8250U and the second one with an Intel Kaby Lake-R Core i7-8550U. Both feature 4 cores 8 threads and Intel UHD Graphics 620. The XPS 13 comes with either 1080p or 4K display.
The laptop will have 4GB, 8GB, and 16 GB dual-channel LPDDR3 memory options. Furthermore, the base model of XPS 13 will come with 128GB M.2 SATA SSD but, this laptop also gives options for storage as well. The Dell XPS 13 starts at $999.99.
