CD Projekt Red recently revealed that Cyberpunk 2077 PC optimization will be as good as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. This information was shared by CD Projekt in a reply to a Reddit user who asked about Cyberpunk 2077 optimization.
In response, the staff at CD Projekt Red guaranteed that the game will be as good as the third Witcher game and that the team will reveal PC system requirements of the game soon. This is good news for everyone with a PC below average. That’s because The Witcher 3 was very well optimized and ran very well on below-average PCs with high settings and without much problems.
Furthermore, Alvin Liu, UI coordinator at CD Projekt Red previously confirmed that the studio is focusing on the current generation consoles. It means that the game will be also playable on low-end PCs. Cyberpunk 2077 developer will make that happen thanks to the flexibility of the custom RED engine which was also used in The Witcher 3.
Here’s what Alvin Liu said:
We have a very custom engine, the RED Engine. And actually, we’re targeting consoles as first-class platforms and it looks amazing there. So obviously, if you spent, you know, $2,000 building your PC rig, it’s going to look better on that. But the graphics are quite amazing for what you’re going to get from Cyberpunk 2077 on consoles and low-end PCs.
With that said, it looks like you will not have to upgrade your system to play Cyberpunk 2077. Of course, the game will look way better on high-end PCs if you can afford one.
Luckily we have an idea of what a high-end PC should possess in order to run Cyberpunk 2077 at its best. Following the Cyberpunk 2077 demo shown at E3, a representative of CD Projekt revealed the specs of the PC that the game was running on. Interested folks can check out Cyberpunk 2077 PC demo specifications below.
Cyberpunk 2077 PC Requirements
- CPU: Intel i7-8700K @ 3.70 GHz
- Motherboard: ASUS ROG STRIX Z370-I GAMING
- RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws V, 2x16GB, 3000MHz, CL15
- GPU: Titan RTX
- SSD: Samsung 960 Pro 512 GB M.2 PCIe
- PSU: Corsair SF600 600W
Do note that building a PC with the above hardware specs is going to cost you around £3,362 or $4,233. So if you want to enjoy the game at its best, you better start saving now.
One of the reasons why the game requires such high-end specs is because of the massive world inside. The world of Cyberpunk 2077 will not disappoint anyone as it consists of NPCs, Cars, Nomad and different districts for the players to explore. In addition to this, players will get to see Keanu Reeves in the game as Johnny Silverhand.
We can expect CD Projekt to talk about Cyberpunk 2077 Optimization and PC system requirements at the end of 2019. Maybe at PlayStation Experience 2019.
Cyberpunk 2077 will release on April 16, 2020, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The game is also expected to be one of the launch titles for next-generation consoles like PlayStation 5 and Microsoft Xbox Scarlett.
